Dr.
William Littlefield attended Ohio University on an athletic and academic
Rush Elliott Memorial Scholarship. He received his M.D. degree from
the Ohio State University in 1983 and completed his internship in general
surgery at the University of Michigan. After a three-year tour as a
flight surgeon for the 335 Tactical Fighter Squadron he completed his
residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center
in San Antonio and finished his formal training at the world-renowned
Duke University Medical Center in hand and microvascular surgery. He
was chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Wright Patterson AFB from 1993-1995,
when he separated from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel to enter
private practice in Dayton.
Dr. Littlefield specializes exclusively in the medical and surgical care and treatment of the hand, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, cubital tunnel syndrome, wrist and upper extremity, including sports medicine, occupational and work-related conditions/injuries, trauma, arthritis, arthroscopy, and microvascular surgery. He is Board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and also holds the Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is active as a Member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and is an active Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is affiliated with Northside Hospital Forsyth and Northside Hospital Cherokee. Dr. Littlefield and Advanced Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the entire North Metro Atlanta community, with offices in Cumming (Forsyth County) and Canton (Cherokee County).
Regular office hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Patients are seen Monday through Friday, with appointments available as early as 7:00 am and as late as 8:00 pm on selected days. Office surgery for certain conditions is available.
